Amber is the Director of Software Development at Singlewire Software, a company that builds emergency notification systems for schools, hospitals, and businesses. Amber has been leading agile teams in a variety of industries for almost 15 years and founded the agile consultancy, O2 Agility.
Previously, Amber was the Head of Product Operations at Capital One Labs, where she ran the agile practice and operations for Capital One’s Innovation Lab. She’s led the Agile Program Management Office at Opower (recently acquired by Oracle) and drove the transition from waterfall to agile development at National Geographic. She began her career as a Software Engineer at IBM and is passionate about agile coaching, environmental sustainability, time management, and women in technology. She is a Certified SAFe Program Consultant (SPC4), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), and Project Management Professional (PMP).
Amber has been a Guest Lecturer at Harvard Business School and spoken at Business Agility (2017), Lean+Agile DC (2014, 2015), Agile DC (2015, 2016, 2017), IBM Rational Development Conference (2007, 2011), and the IBM Early Tenure Conference (2009) on a wide range of topics including self-selection, lean release planning, agile project management, database architecture and innovation for IBM Rational Clearquest, eradicating poverty in Africa, transitioning National Geographic to agile development and the digital age.
